Artificial Intelligence Intern, Clojure, SAIC, Arlington, VA

From this posting: Artificial Intelligence Intern Job

SAIC’s Sensors and Phenomenology Operation has an internship position at its Autonomy and Analytics Division in Arlington, Virginia for the summer of 2013.

Under the general supervision of a staff researcher, the Intern will perform a wide variety of duties applicable to their field of study supporting technical projects often in a team environment. Interns may be asked to participate in activities supporting multiple projects or work on a small task that contributes to a large project of great importance. Interns will have the opportunity throughout the summer to participate in additional activities to include multiple social functions, SAIC Interns’ Outing to a Nats game, and numerous coaching sessions on life after college.

The goal for this internship is to explore artificial intelligence (AI) techniques for diagram and chart analysis in real-world domains. This research may also look at related areas, such as diagrammatic and visual reasoning, document retrieval from large corpora or from the web, and diagram generation.

Systems will be built using Clojure and/or Scheme, so experience with one of these languages or with Lisp is essential. Although systems will not be built with Java, familiarity with existing Java libraries is also useful.
